MIM STRATEGIC
ADVISORY BOARD (MIM SAB) 2006-2010
MIM SAB composition
1. Members are selected by MIM constituents using a consultative
process.
2. Members serve for five years corresponding to the MIM Secretariat
mandate.
3. Should reflect the MIM community and allow consistent input
from African scientists.
4. Strengthen MIM organizational structur.
5. Provide technical expertise and be involved in fund raising.
6. Help leverage advocacy for African science.
Roles of the Board
- Identification of key factors for research capacity building
in Africa
- Formulation of a long-term strategic plan to:
- Address the identified issues
- Promote advocacy for MIM
- Attract and increase MIM funding
- Facilitation of the strategic plan implementation
- Identification of partnerships where MIM could play an
important role
- Provision of a full overview perspective that gives advice
and directions to MIM components
